Work begins on the gel grout slab

In the HafenCity district of Hamburg, Bilfinger Berger AG Foundation Engineering Branch, Hamburg Office is building an excavation pit with a contract volume of about € 13.75 million. Currently, the grouting work for a “waterproof” gel grout slab is being carried out in the first of three sections. Spread over an area of about 10,000 square meters, 6,000 injection lances compacted by vibration are to be grouted. For control and documentation purposes the injection units are equipped with computer technology. Connected to a network, the computers access a shared database. RFID technology ensures that the injection points are correctly located.
